Tobacco Road Marathon Training: Weeks 15 & 16 of 16

I'm clearing out my drafts folder and found this: Weeks 15 & 16 of my training for the Tobacco Road Marathon, which I ran nearly 1 year ago. For housekeeping purposes, I feel obliged to post it.

Week 15

  • Monday: Rest
  • Tuesday: 6 miles with 5x1000 in 4:30 and 400m RI.
  • Wednesday:
  • Thursday: 6 miles with 3 @7:54.
  • Friday: Bike: 10 minutes easy, 3x(2 minutes hard, 2 minutes easy), 10 minutes easy.
  • Saturday: Rest
  • Sunday: 8 miles

Week 16

  • Monday: Rest/bike commute
  • Tuesday: Rest/bike commute
  • Wednesday:  5 miles with 3 @ GMP/bike commute
  • Thursday: Rest/bike commute
  • Friday: Rest
  • Saturday: Rest
  • Sunday: Tobacco Road Marathon (3:52)

I could feel a cold coming on and was starting to feel like garb, so I skipped my second-to-last workout in Week 16 and just rested. On Thursday I came down with a cold, which thankfully stayed above the neck until Sunday.
